5. Peripheral vascular disease (PVD)
In PsA, narrowed blood vessels reduce blood flow to the extremities. Although arteries are primarily affected, changes in circulation can make veins more visible as the body “reroutes” blood through smaller vessels.
Possible symptoms:
tired, sore legs
numbness or a feeling of cold in the extremities
wounds that heal slowly or skin discoloration
PSB is often associated with atherosclerosis and increases the risk of heart attack or stroke.
When should you see a doctor?
Visible veins are usually harmless, especially if they have appeared gradually. But if you notice:
sudden, stronger swelling of just one limb
painful or throbbing veins
