The 3-day soup-based detox cleanse

Recipe 3: Red Lentil Soup
Ingredients:

– 1/4 cup coconut oil or olive oil
– 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into small pieces
– 1 apple, peeled and cut into pieces
– 1 small white onion, thinly sliced
– 2 carrots, peeled and cut into pieces
– 1/2 cup red lentils, well rinsed
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon paprika
– 4 to 5 cups vegetable broth
– 1 to 2 cm piece of grated ginger root
– Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

Preparation: The 3-Day Soup Detox
Heat the oil: In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sweet potato pieces, carrots, apple, and onion. Sauté the vegetables for about 10 minutes, until they are tender and the onions begin to caramelize.

Add the spices and lentils: Once the vegetables are cooked, stir in the lentils, fresh ginger, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and vegetable stock. Mix well, then bring to a boil. Simmer for about 30 minutes, until all the ingredients are tender and softened.
